Hello ????????

For a uncontested divorce to a Thai citizen, what documents must a foreigner bring to the Amphur?

          Original passport & TM card.

Translated copy of their passport into Thai.

Any other document?

Cheers????

If you are getting divorced at a different amphur to where you got married, then you will need the original marriage certificate. Otherwise you will have to go to the same amphur you got married at.

You can get divorced at any amphur but you definately need both marriage certificates. If you dont have both certificates then you would need to go to a police station and report it lost and get a written police report to hand in to the amphur.

Just out of interest you have made no mention of the wife, both parties need to be present and the wife needs to show her id card.

One more point some amphurs require a translated copy of the passport and some dont, so its worth checking with the amphur first, and if you do need it then the translated copy also needs to be legalised by being stamped at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both marriage certificates and two witnesses.

Can it with the witnesses. It depends on the amphur. What should the prospective happy divorcee do? Go to the amphur where getting divorced and ASK THEM what is required.

Take the documents which are in Thai and get them translated so one knows what one is signing, BEFORE one signs them.
