Insurance for visit to/residence in UK by Thai national

One of my neighbours is planning a visit to the UK; wants to check that his daughter has settled into university there and do some tourism with her during the Christmas vacation.  

Having seen press photos of a young boy being treated on the floor of a Leeeds hospital and read various recent graphic NHS in collapse stories in the press, he's keen to ensure that he has some all-contingency insurance before he departs and an equivalent policy for his daughter. 

 

Any recommendations?

Axa have a number of Smart Traveller policies at different levels available online. Good start point anyway. I took one out for a trip to the UK in the summer but I was more interested in the coverage other than medical.

For the daughter maybe talk to a broker to see what is available for a longer period?
