Hello all helpful people on TV!

I come from Sweden and I will visit Thailand (together with my thai wife) for about 70 days later this year. We intend to do a short trip to Laos after about 40 days in Thailand.

Here is my question: If I get a tourist visa (60 days) before we go from Sweden, will I get 30 "new days" when I return from Laos, or should I apply for a double entry tourist visa?

Unless you have a passport full of 30 day entries in the last few months there should not be any problem with a single entry tourist visa to enter Thailand and using your visa exempt 30 day on return from Laos.

That said the added cost of a two entry tourist visa is probably not that great as a percentage of your trip expense and with a two entry tourist visa you would have more freedom in not having to plan exact dates (60 day each entry instead of 60/30). It would also allow a longer stay if you decide to extend your visit.
