Thanathorn arrives at crossroads sooner than expected

 

 

The Skywalk protest is most likely the point of no return. It’s where Future Forward leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit effectively “crossed the line” into a new territory in which he might ironically provoke something he had repeatedly pledged to prevent from happening _ military intervention in politics.

 

To be fair, he did not seem to have a choice. An Election Commission ruling against his loans to his own party put the fledging political camp on the brink and Thanathorn himself on the threshold of prolonged electoral ban and even jail. If he had not taken to streets, it would be like a badly bruised and dazed boxer going into a crucial round with his guards down.

 

Clips of his earlier speeches went viral before, during and after the Skywalk gathering last weekend. In them, he vowed to only use Parliament to effect changes. Certainly, the politician of all the people knows full well what kind of risks is associated with street protests _ whether they are “flash” or “encamped”.

What! I got the understanding that the meaning of military intervention in this news, was the one that crashes the sitting government.

Thanathorn crossed the line the moment he got elected.Now he stands in the middle of the crosshairs of Prayut's tanks,but they're not really Prayut's tanks are they?

Totally convinced that Thanathorn is not alone in his quest to provoke Prayut. He has high level support and it is unlikely from the Shins.

Really would love to see the day these types of people are able to eradicate the military from all politics in Thailand.

I believe Prayut is very worried as public support for Thanathorn is increasing, he is no longer the popular PM he once was and no doubt the ex general will have others wanting to take his position as PM.

 

My wife has an old saying, never take both feet out of the boat until the boat has been tied, otherwise you might find yourself standing on the shore alone.

 

The King has also called his regiments closer to him, time will tell.
