Does anyone remember Burma? The UK-based Burma Action Group encouraged a travel boycott which absolutely reduced the number of travelers & business investment. BAG were big supporters of Suu Kyi.

Sorry to be so pessimistic, but in the end, nothing changed except the name. Myanmar is still run by generals and Suu Kyi has not only been co-opted as a figurehead by the military but even supports their genocide against the Rohingya.

The only hope Thailand had to be a real country in the modern world was FFP.
