Hi,

i'm doing my first retirement extension, based on 800K, at CW and am unclear about the process, do i need to get a bank statement and letter from my bank? do i get these at the K bank branch at CW? do i get these before i get my queue number, or can i get my queue number and then go to the bank?

thanks for any help

First of all, what is your visa now? O?, O-A?, other? Eventually someone is going to ask if you have your insurance certificate.

In any case, regarding the bank documents. I got my 2nd extension in mid-October at CW. (no insurance required at that time). I got my Kasikorn bank letter on Saturday and applied on Monday. The bank letter is a short simple letter stating that you have a bank account and what the balance is on that day. Every bank knows what Immigration wants to see. I also had 3 months of bank statements printed out on that Saturday. On that Monday morning, at 8:30am, I went to get my queue number for L section. Then I went downstairs, withdrew 1000 baht from my account and updated my bankbook at the machine available. CW wants to see a same day transaction in your bank book. They also took my bankbook along with the other documents when I submitted my application.

I can relate to your confusion. For my first 1 year extension I just showed up with 6 months of bank statements. The IO officer was kind and wrote something on a piece of paper and told me to bring it to the bank branch. They then printed out the "letter". Then I returned to the IO who then told me I need to have a same day transaction in my bank book. I went back and did this. Then she accepted all my documents.
