bannork
Leonard Cohen, beautiful melodies tinged with sadness. We've lost Tippers- he's trying to find the meaning of life on another thread about God. a very difficult task. Talahnut, sadly only transitory in Thailand, but at least he's here for a while. Tutsi, on the point of departure, but who knows where to. But music will be our only friend until the end, and perhaps beyond.
tutsiwarrior
aw well, I managed to extend again this week for another year...but being a procrastinator and now increasingly agoraphobic looks like I'll be able to sleep in my own bed for another year (hooray, and just got the ACs cleaned to boot)...the stepdaughter: 'tutsi, I need 2000 to go to the dentist to adjust my worthless and ornamental braces' and tutsi roars in return 'shaddap and get outta here and get me a woman!!! this time one with nice big hips...' (tutsi admires the work of cartoonist R. Crumb from the 60s and shares a similar proclivity for the female anatomy) Edited February 20, 2020 by tutsiwarrior 1 1
talahtnut
I'm gettin back to the Colemans horseradish sauce thread, its too gloomy and sexist here. However, fear not, I have a pooter in england whereupon I can disseminate chunes of tasht and delight, like diss. bannork
Ha ha. A woman who has been very special to me since I first met her in 1974 used to play this incessantly in her room in our shared house back then. Of course as hippies, we thought her choice of music was abysmal but I've always had a soft sport for George since then, they were such happy times for me. Can't be gloomy in LOS, Talahnut, it's just not possible with the bright colours and laughter. Time for some great music frequently overlooked and then some humour. 1
Popular Post Tippaporn
Incredible! bannork just now hunted me down and nicked me fer playin' with some other boys on another thread. What the h3ll happened here!! When I left I gave y'all a good 10 page lead over that other music thread. We're now down a whoppin' 6 pages? Geezus Keerist! The Who with The Seeker. Released as a non-album single in March 1970 and featured on their 1971 compilation album Meaty Beaty Big And Bouncy.
Tippaporn
mauGR1 came up with a good one I hadn't heard in awhile on that other thread bannork caught me playing on. Tippaporn
This one is for bannork representing my humble apology for being away so long. Geez, bannork, what the h3ll happened to you? You look so much older since last. Stay away from mirrors so as to not frighten yourself. 5555555 bannork is a man with superb musical tastes and a love for Jefferson Airplane. Rock Me Baby performed live from their '69 Bless Its Pointed Little Head LP. Enjoy, mate, I will.

And a little somthing for 'Sexist Sid' I swear I saw that cat ridin' in style in his pimpmobile down the Dan Ryan expressway on Chicago's southside back in '74. Very cool polyester threads! And check out the size of that nugget on his pinky! Check it out, man! It's even sportin' curb finders! Now that's b!tchin', brother.

We've been here all along, mate. What happened, did you take a wrong turn again, ya ol' chunehead? 5555555555 Glad to see you back. Nice to hear some "real" music again instead of all the noise I post. BTW, what's you're preferred method for gauging your age? The music you listened to in your youth or carbon dating? 5555555555 Mashed Potato Time by Dee Dee Sharp from '62. Tippaporn
Pretty good Spanish made vid to go along with a pretty good Kinks chune. The title track off of their '70 Lola LP.
Tippaporn
It's always fun to discover bands/artists that had been around from your early listening days and yet somehow they escaped your notice. Nick Cave was one of those for me. Another was The Cramps. Supremely and deliciously raunchy, with rockabilly overtones and some excellent driving bass which just makes me want to turn that volume higher and higher. Perhaps, with stage names like Lux Interior and Poison Ivy, they strongly appeal to my strong rebellious nature. Without a doubt they are incredibly talented and inventive. When I realized that the 80's had opened up I was gleeful to know that I now had my opportunity to play them. So, without further ado, here's Voodoo Idol off of their '81 Psychedelic Jungle LP. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.
Tippaporn
I'm a-gonna cheat here because this Cramps tune is from a live show they did in Norway back in 2006. The number is Psychotic Reaction, which I know many here like and it's very much a great favourite chune of mine (thank you always, talahut, for teaching me that fine pronunciation of 'tune'). I'm a cheatin' 'cause if you enjoy The Cramps this is an awesome rendition of an ultimate classic. And, being a live performance gives it just that much more electricity. I love Lux Interior's line when, after some initial tuning by Poison Ivy, he points to her and says, "This is the jazz portion of our set." 555555555555 Edited February 24, 2020 by Tippaporn
Tippaporn
The Cramps with a unique, mellow number, Lonesome Town, off of their '83 Off The Bone LP but this was recorded in '77.
Tippaporn
Hot Tuna's Jorma Kaukonen with I Am the Light Of This World, written by the Reverend Gary Davis, found on his '74 Quah LP, and hat tip to mauGR1. Been trying to get him to post over here. I think he's an old fart, just like us. So he should be a good fit. 1
talahtnut
Nice to see tittyporn going nuts on the chunes. Yeah been on the mustard thread for 2 days but I couldn't think of anything intelligent to say, so I cut it, so that I can annoy the chuners. Here Sam is The Mustard. Below we have a shamefully little known musical gem, which is most suitable for the tashts of all yoos recent posters here.

mauGR1
Hi folks, @Tippaporn reminded me of this thread, so here is one of my favourite from the Kinks, i don't know why, but i always found Ray Davies' singing extremely funny. 1
Tippaporn
Welcome to the thread, mauGR1. It was a . . . wise choice. 5555555555555 Inside joke, there. I'll compliment that with Victoria, off of their '69 Arthur (Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire) LP. Of course, now that the U.K. has finally removed it's lips from the teet of the EU and is once again a truly independent land then it's quite possible for the Kinks to produce another, new album . . . Boris (Or The Rise Of The British Empire). My sincere apologies for my poor taste in humour, bannork. 5555555555 Edited February 24, 2020 by Tippaporn 2

However I agree with your theory maugri, that there is a super intelligence at work. Although your theory falls apart listening to some of these posters contributions. This little chune reminds me of London clubland, smokey as hell, replete with an subtle infusion of a certain 'vegetable matter'.... great times. Obviously cut it down since then but still love alcohol. If you can control it it's a wonderful drug. Love your beer and God reference Tippers. I wonder if it's free in heaven. Andrew Dwyer
Here’s one i came across recently and thought it quite quaint ????. Eric Carmen on vocals before he went on to better things. The Raspberries call themselves a Pop/Rock band and certainly can’t make their mind up on this track whether it is Pop or Rock ( soft ) !! Go all the way ( 1972 ) Edited February 27, 2020 by Andrew Dwyer
