I think you confused going to a local immigrations office to apply for an extension and "taking all your documentation" with simple entering the country.  Big difference...

    If you mean when entering the country then you should only show your passport and arrival card. Only present anything else if asked for it.

    It seems like "Need to Know" basis may work best. The master of immigration information has spoken.   Come to think of it, I only ever handed over my passport and departure card (?). Always

Mate, it has been a couple of years now that the polite 'wai' with hands in a praying position was replaced with an upturned scrounging palm. Can still come across nicer people in more rural areas though.
