I think you confused going to a local immigrations office to apply for an extension and "taking all your documentation" with simple entering the country.  Big difference...

  • If you mean when entering the country then you should only show your passport and arrival card. Only present anything else if asked for it.

  • It seems like "Need to Know" basis may work best. The master of immigration information has spoken.   Come to think of it, I only ever handed over my passport and departure card (?). Always

Mate, it has been a couple of years now that the polite 'wai' with hands in a praying position was replaced with an upturned scrounging palm. Can still come across nicer people in more rural areas though.
