BANGKOK (NNT) - The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has handed over funds, collected under the "PEA Supporting Medical Equipment for 77 Hospitals in Honor of His Majesty the King’s Coronation", to the Ministry of Public Health.

The Public Health Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, thanked the Ministry of Interior and the PEA for spearheading the project and for collecting funds to purchase equipment for 77 hospitals nationwide. The program gathered a total 770 million baht and the minister assured it will put to the best use for the public.

The aim of this program is to enhance services for citizens receiving treatment at the 77 hospitals, all of which reported a lack of necessary equipment. Each hospital will receive 10 million baht, with the first being a hospital for Buddhist clergy. A total of 29 hospitals will receive funding this month, followed by another 47 by June. The program also hopes to foster collaboration between different agencies to improve public health.
