Vaping not allowed, but how about Possession of Vapers?

Featured Replies

I wanted to take some vapers when I go to Thailand, but some are saying that even having them in my possession is illegal there, even if I don't smoke them.
Any idea?

Yep, ridiculous penalties (compared to other "crimes"). As usual, up to you, personally I take my chances and when they eventually pull me up on it (which no doubt they will) cest la vie, will still have saved a fortune vaping and not smell like an ashtray.

Bringing even a single vape here is extremely inadvisable. Multiple ones, even worse. It is something stupid like 5 years in prison, just for possession, per item! That goes along with tens of thousands of dollars for bail. Fair enough, chances of you getting nicked with just one or two are slim, but I wouldnt do it for all the tea in India.

Thai authorities do nothing to prevent burning season, that's killing their own people slowly every year, yet clamp down on the relatively harmless act of vaping?

If I were a cynic I'd surmise that some vested interests are behind such actions?
