Hello,

 

My initial Non-B visa will expire on February 9th.

I have my work permit already, and will have to go to Penang to apply for a new 1 year Non-B visa ME.

 

My question is:

If my paperwork is not fully complete before the 9th of February,

can I get a 1 month extension at immigration?

 

If yes, do I just need a standard application form, the same as for a tourist visa extension?

Or is it more complicated than that?

 

And, my work permit is valid for phuket and my rental registration is in Bangkok.

Could I apply in Bangkok for said extension, or only in Phuket?

(Note that there is no mention in my passport  that I have a work permit)

 

I asked 3 persons at Chaengwattana today

The 1st one bluntly said she didn't know at all.

The 2nd one said I had to go to phuket for a 1 month extension

and the 3rd one said I could only get 7 days but could do it in BKK also

You can only apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration. There is no 30 day extension for a non immigrant visa.

You will have to apply for one year at immigration in Phuket since that is where your work permit is for.

Penang will only issue a multiple entry non-b visa if you are the owner or shareholder of a company.
