MarcB
Hello, My initial Non-B visa will expire on February 9th. I have my work permit already, and will have to go to Penang to apply for a new 1 year Non-B visa ME. My question is: If my paperwork is not fully complete before the 9th of February, can I get a 1 month extension at immigration? If yes, do I just need a standard application form, the same as for a tourist visa extension? Or is it more complicated than that? And, my work permit is valid for phuket and my rental registration is in Bangkok. Could I apply in Bangkok for said extension, or only in Phuket? (Note that there is no mention in my passport that I have a work permit) I asked 3 persons at Chaengwattana today The 1st one bluntly said she didn't know at all. The 2nd one said I had to go to phuket for a 1 month extension and the 3rd one said I could only get 7 days but could do it in BKK also Thanks for any insights ???? ubonjoe
You can only apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration. There is no 30 day extension for a non immigrant visa. You will have to apply for one year at immigration in Phuket since that is where your work permit is for. The basic requirements for your extension is here. https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_1 Penang will only issue a multiple entry non-b visa if you are the owner or shareholder of a company.
