Thai caption: Why so many?
Picture: Sanook

Sanook went to investigate after they were told that some intersections in Bang Kruay, Nonthaburi north west of Bangkok had a lot of CCTV cameras.

They found 15 cameras at two t-junctions.

Others just had 2 or 3 or none at all.

They said that the locals were thoroughly confused.

And they asked the authorities to explain.

Yet if a HISO has an accident there, all 15 will mysteriously fail to work.

The T junction Tiwanon/Sanam Bin Nam has more than 20 CCTV camera. And they work. Thats why everybody  obey the traffic rules there.

problem solved only 1 in 15 CCTV's are working.

Red light cameras are needed. Problem is, someone has to monitor them. Speed cams are also needed, but a cultural change is what's needed most.
