Yikes! Monkey with a gun at popular tourist spot creates a stir

Police were called to a popular tourist site in Chonburi after a food seller spotted a monkey brandishing a gun!

Saichon, 53, thought this looked highly dangerous. He armed himself with his catapult and took aim.

The Siamese simian dropped the gun and it proved to be a real weapon adapted with plastic with a bullet in the chamber. Saichon who sells monkey treats at Khao Sam Muk in Bang Saen said the gun could kill at close range.

Police confirmed that it was a lethal weapon though they thought it incapable of firing now.

They reckon that its owner threw it away on the hill but didn't account for a monkey finding it.

They intend to seek its owner and destroy it for good.

Pictures published on the Pattaya News site showed the monkey with its identity concealed.

Thaivisa thinks that this might...just might....be taking Thailand's defamation laws a little too seriously.

Either that or a Thai editor was displaying more than a little sense of irony!

That's rather a drastic solution, why kill the owner?

This monkey may end up being a witness in a murder investigation.  ????

Monkey's and guns seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment, more illegal weapons then legitimate ones!

So the "monkeys" put an end to the "monkey business".
