The government reporting on this is like reporting there is traffic on Sukhumvit.

You can see the bad air.

It took a place like California billions of dollars and about 10 years to change it.

So, it will never change here just worse and worse I fear.

Why not just pin this?  The air quality is horrible every day.  When it gets "hazardous", then let's panic.

Meanwhile up country here the sugar burning happens every night, now we have some people coming to the vacant house at the end of our street right near me and my nieghbour and making charcoal everynight, the stink of that is awful and gets in the house no matter what.

Sorry but is there any Thais who has any understanding what polluting our air means, or to put it differently is there anyone who pays any attention of the most important element of our life which without couldn’t even exist longer than few seconds. If they do, then they could understand the basic like the smoke of the vehicles only that contains itself more than 1500 types of chemicals, if they would be conscious about this why they should run their vehicles for no reason everywhere during parking, or even the parking motobikes, or who would want to have the foods from the roadside which are fully exposed and contaminated with those heavy metal particles etc. just the very basic to mention. Ignorance of life.

When surface winds mix with smog, you get a mitigating effect on dangerous air pollution.  Most politicians can supply ample amounts of hot air, to help alleviate the problem.  And fortunately, Bangkok has an abundant supply of politicians.

You may well get your wish if the current forecasts for the week ahead turn out to be accurate.

As bad as this past week has been, the coming week is forecast to be worse!!! As evidenced by the purple (very unhealthy) shadings in the air quality forecast.

No actually it is 150+ in BKK and surrounding provinces. Though presently only 140+. I'm not sure why they are downplaying the actual numbers.????

While in the ivory tower life continued as normal!

Filtered air-conditioning and bottled mineral water [chilled of course]!

Is there anywhere is this country that doesn't suffer with air pollution ? The whole country is choking to to death.

Like noise pollution, the concept of air pollution seems to not be deemed sufficient for government to address...

Got 157 Yesterday before a smallm shower

Location 20 Km outside Pattaya in the sticks

Im showing 75 near Sukhumvit Soi 71

If we really knew the number of minutes of o uh r lives we lose for time exposed to various pollution levels.   Unfortunately for post of us death comes many years later so it's hard to measure cause and effect

Do you know what burning plastic smells like? Then you have lived in Thailand.

Meanwhile in London the pm2.5 was reading 8ppm yesterday but with the help of a bit more taxing the nuts out of Londoners they will be able to get it down another point.
