Rats out! "Pretty" farang shames Bangkok with rat infested phone box video!

Daily News said that Thais in Bangkok were calling on the authorities to act after a "pretty farang" woman shamed the capital. 

 

The lady in question posted a video of a veritable nest of rats inhabiting a green phone box in the downtown Asoke area of the city. 

 

The media said that comments and shares were rife - it was embarrassing, bad for the image of Bangkok and the authorities needed to act to rid Bangkok of these rats.

 

Thaivisa notes that in this context rats meant rodents, not tourists shaming Thailand....

Shes cute but why get freakzoided out over a rat? Its a City. A big city. A big old city. A big old city with a lot of garbage. A big old city with a lot of garbage and cats and dogs and yes, even snakes and rats. Bet the rats here look over their shoulders alot, although the predators seem awfully languid here.

Why Bangkokians are so touchy feely about BKK? BKK has its own charm and allure rats and all, sure, some of the capitol's parts are better and cleaner than others, beside, show me a capital city in the world where there are no rats or other critters infestation to one degree or another...

They already had their election. I don't think the rats are going to change anytime soon....

It is all ok, really............Bangkok is just getting ready to welcome all the thousands of Indian tourists.........

I agree. Walked downstairs from the BTS Asok yesterday evening and about a dozen rats running around the walkway. Tourists were filming them.

I think in NYC there was a club of dudes with terriers that would go out and have rat catching contests. I dont know if they stilll do it. Check out the Bedlington Terrier, you dont see those a lot.

I alwys got a kick out of terriers, they are such happy little killers.

Hey, can’t a rat make a phone call without being disturbed lady ???? 

Why would a pretty girl make a video about rats? Does that sell on Instagram or YouTube or wherever? 

Some years ago I was waiting for my wife in a Bangkok Hospital, my wife was in the x-ray room. I sat in the waiting room and saw a real big rat slowly walking over a wire gutter up in the room. There was a lady cleaning the room with a wet mop. I called her and pointed to the rat. The only reaction was a little chuckle and she went on mopping the floor...

they carry and spread disease that you do not want to catch

I didn't think that anybody used those phones any more.

Those are small like mice considering the real normal size of rats in BKK.

Rats were the reason I came to BKK in the first place! Leave them alone!

Try Pattaya/Jomtien beaches at dusk, more  rats than people, disgusting

Ha ha ha!!! this is nothing, try walking along beach road in Pattaya early morning - Rats everywhere...!!!!

You can see where this is going to end up for the "pretty farang"

They also keep out the roaming cats. Good to have at the house.

What a laugh ???????????? What planet  does this precious princess live on ! Rats are everywhere. Predate mans emergence by quite a few million years. I guess she lives such a privileged life that she doesn’t frequent night clubs restaurants coffee shops department stores in her own country (cause they all got rats!).

That's nothing. She should post some videos of the rats frolicking in and around the food carts instead. They're everywhere really. Look down while out at night, sometimes in the day, and you are going to see them. In the parks, they are like squirrels, running about in the flower beds. In the streets they are to and fro from the sewers. In the markets, shops, alleys... What are people crying about that the girls showed a normal thing for BKK? Should we pretend they aren't here?

"pretty"  sums it  all up really for the paper and society Id  say
