Thai media reported that netizens were full of praise for an airport security guard after he clambered along a glass roof to retrieve a phone that had been dropped by an Indian tourist. 

 

Private 1st class Thawatchai Jannameuang said he didn't dare go down at first but seeing the plight of the tourist who was soon to take a flight he decided to risk it. 

 

After all the tourist may have been thoroughly inconvenienced at losing the data on his phone, he told 77kaoded who went to Suvarnabhumi to investigate.

 

He was videoed edging along metal supports until he managed to grab the fallen device. 

 

He said he had no idea if the plate glass would have been able to take his 100 kilo weight. It was 15 meters up between the third and fourth floors near Gate G.

 

Private Thawatchai said that the smile of the tourist on getting back his phone made him proud to have been of assistance.

 

The media did not mention in their written report if any reward was given on this occasion.
