Hi, 

 

I have a Bangkok Bank ATM card that I got from a branch in Pattaya. Would I be able to use another brand ATM - i.e. Kasikornbank - in Bangkok? Or is it fees related?

Yes, but you would have to pay an out of province fee, 20 THB,  if memory serves me

 

 You will see a  notice on most ATM's in Thailand: all cards accepted here 

My experience is within Bangkok bank province Bkk bank ATM withdrawal free.

Outside province 20 bht.

Other bank ATMs vary wherever sometimes free, other times 20 or 25 baht.

You can use another banks ATM for at least four times per calendar  month without a fee (within Chonburi province).

After that a fee applies as written above.

Fee also for out of province use even at Bangkok Bank ATM.

A bit antiquated but still the norm at the majority of banks.

On the other hand the banks are highly network linked by this "cash pool". After withdrawal you can see the balance of your account at the other ATM. All realtime/instant transactions.

 

I occasionally withdraw at other banks ATM with my Bangkok Bank card.

Yesterday used a BAAC ATM, 20k, no fee (not in Pattaya).

And most foreigners don't know BAAC

For the vast majority of banks (all big players) it should be free within the province as written (limited number of times per month).

Only some rarely seen banks are not member of this cash pool.

As far as I know AEON is one of them and maybe Citibank, Bank of China and the like.

I wonder why Terminal 21 Pattaya does not have any BBL ATM, not even one.

NOt complaing as my BBL card works on SCB and KBank ATMs.

Like most thing here in Thailand, follow the money, Terminal 21 probably didn't want to pay the prevailing rate to have BB machines available there
