Another bird identification request

Featured Replies

I cannot find the "Birds in my Garden" topic.

I have a bird repeatedly calling from cover near my house near San Pa Tong. I cannot see it but a neighbour assures me that it is a wee black and white bird. Its call is a high pitched "Wheeeeehyooo" repeated at 5 second intervals and it calls in the late afternoon and stops at sunset.

What is it ?

No idea what the bird in question is but is this the thread you were looking for?

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

It's a magpie robin.

My all-time favourite Thai job (surely a "reserved" occupation) is the guy who goes around capturing birds and caging them in a small box just so another Thai can let the birds go free at a temple and thus "gain merit"

Most of those birds return to their owner having been kept by them for years.
