Popular Post WineOh
do you ever feel like you are wasting your life here in Thailand? ever feel like the clock is running out 1 minute at a time, and all you have got planned in your diary is another night on the bar stool? You see the same old faces, day in day out. Same old decrepit, toothless beer-bellied washouts at your local, sipping their way into an early coffin whilst eyeing up their equally washed up female counterparts dotted along the soi.. spouting the same old mindless spiel about god knows who and god knows what. then all of a sudden, to lighten up the day, some tanned middle aged bloke covered in forearm tattoos walks past your patch at the bar, shirt torn from a fight 5 minutes previous with eyes glazed and a bust lip and proceeds to stumble into your favorite bar, then vomits at your feet before muttering something incoherent and laughing as if it's all just a big joke,,, What has your life become? where did it all go wrong? Have you achieved all you wish in this life, or have you severely underachieved?? tis the question on my lips today. 2
Popular Post BritManToo
I always felt the purpose of life was to have sex with as many fertile women as many times as possible. Although I do understand some men think the purpose of life is to gather as much money and toys as possible. If you want money and toys, Thailand is not the place for you. If you want sex and the chance of reproduction, it most certainly is. By only managing to reproduce 5 times (that i know of), I do feel I have underachieved, and if I could do it all again, I would spend less time earning, and more time banging. As Attila the Hun used to say, "There is no greater reward in life than lying with the wives and daughters of your recently dead enemies, and riding their horses" Edited February 11, 2020 by BritManToo 6 3 1

Popular Post SteveK
Working 40 hours a week in a job you hate, constantly looking at your watch for the time when you can go home is far more a waste of your life than sitting on a bar stool in Thailand.

Popular Post thequietman
Actually, yes - I turned 50 last week and the thoughts are now in my head. Thailand has changed me and I am now more laid back and very little annoys me now. However, with that comes with a lack of forward progress and settling for what you have. I have always been a Delboy type person who loved selling, wheeling and dealing throughout my life, and I miss that. Not being able to wheel and deal here is a huge disadvantage and knowing that if my wife were to die before me, I would have to leave Thailand and my step kids. I have made insufficient payments towards my pension, so that isn't going to be big when 68 comes around. (if ever) My hands ate tied here and even though I am saving 35000 baht a month and have everything that I need, I can't help think that retirement is not for me. Being off work for more than 5 days and I am really bored. My 'friends' are all a lot older and we have very little in common. I am young at heart. So yes, it is entering my head regularly, and I am considering making a move to Europe before it's too late. Georgia (not USA) is somewhere I am considering. I can teach ESL there and do my online work as well. And so, I keep planning with nothing sure in mind. ????

However writing what you mean is an achievement. So by definition... If one is not from Thailand then being able to sit in a bar here all day is an achievement. over or under achieving could be construed as how one approaches adversity or how one reacts to opportunities placed in from of one. Many are called but few are chosen.

Lacessit
I consider I have under-achieved in Australia, and over-achieved in Thailand. Conversely, I have over-achieved in Australia, and am under-achieving in Thailand. Make of that what you will.
