The House of Representatives has passed the third reading of the 3.2 trillion baht budget bill for the 2020 fiscal year with 257 votes for, 1 against and 3 abstentions.

The six opposition parties, led by the Pheu Thai party, boycotted the meeting, although they had confirmed their attendance to enable the meeting to proceed.

Pheu Thai MP Chirayu Huangsap said that opposition parties would stay away in order to allow government MPs to consider the bill as they wish.

".... 3.2 trillion baht budget ..."

I guess we all know where most of that will go.

It's where it won't go (where it should go) that is saddest.

Is the trough now half full or is it half empty!!!

Good news for the badge laden masquerading in suits and metallic pajamas more welfare and cheap guns to quell the dissent ????

If they keep dragging their feet it will be the 2021 budget.  Slow as molasses.

Parliament okays two items in budget bill

By THE NATION

Parliament on Thursday (February 13), voted approval of the National Budget for Fiscal 2020 Act agenda items 2 and 3 at 257 votes for and one against, while three abstained from voting.

The meeting was chaired by House Speaker Chuan Leekpai.

The Constitutional Court on February 7 gave a 5-4 ruling that the budget bill can proceed if MPs hold another vote on agenda items 2 and 3, after House Speaker had asked the court to verify whether the legislation was constitutionally sound after three MPs were accused of having their colleagues cast votes on their behalf during their absence from the House.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul said the government thanked Parliament and all MPs for approving the fiscal act. “We promise to manage the national budget under good governance practices with the highest efficiency and caution to develop the country and resolve people's problems,” he said. “Most importantly, all expenses of the budget shall be verifiable.”

The next step for the budget bill is to get approval from the Senate, whereas Nat Phasuk, secretary-general of the Senate, said that he had dispatched summons to members of the Senate to a meeting at 2pm on Friday (February 14).

“After the Senate approved the bill, House Speaker Chuan will submit the bill to the Prime Miminister who will wait five days for appeals, if any, to be reconsidered, before presenting it to the King to sign,” he added.

Here we go around the Mulberry bush.

What gets me is the fact that most of Thailand wealth is generated ftrom non Thai, mainly tourists, the very people told to Fxxk Off by a Thai government official.

Ironic!

What if no tourists? No money? No budget? No employment...

Bite the hand that feeds. Typical
