Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has offered to donate one month’s salary to a new fund for voluntary donations to generate another source of money besides the national budget to deal with the Covid-19 situation.

Government spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat said the prime minister made the offer during a Cabinet meeting today (March 3).

“Initially, the prime minister and the Cabinet would donate one month’s salary to establish this fund,” she said. “We expect the fund to be set up this month to help people, medical staff, and the Public Health Ministry.”

She added that the government spokespersons would donate one month of their salaries to the fund as well.

I would rather have the brown envelopes that everyone knows happens. In fact the government monthly salary barely pays for a few massages and gigs a month. The real money is in interests outside.

A good gesture by Khun Prayut. At least he is showing he does care about this pandemic, he could have said nothing.

Maybe better if he said nothing Steven, because him speaking about giving a months salary is just a p++s take, as it is a mere fraction of the money he gets every month.

How about donating few watches?

He doesn't seem to know what a national government's purpose is.

How about donating an entire month's worth of his actual total income?

  • Popular Post

I am assuming a month of his government salary is actually quite small? I seem to recall his wage as PM being reported at around 2M per year.

Steven100 you are a #$@* of the first order. I think you must be on something to not see the blatant corruption and political manipulation [dissolution of FFP] that this so called democratic Government is guilty of. They are fast flushing this one great Country down the toilet.

And as for caring about Covid-19 are you really saying that the 40+ cases officially reported here in Thailand is a correct one? There was an article I read recently by some eminent academic professors who said that given the millions of Chinese (and other Asian visitors) visitors that Thailand has the figure of 40+ is statistically impossible when you compare it to other countries with much larger infections aka Italy, Iran et al.

Get real and get a life.

Don't worry, Steven, if the s*** hits the fan, he will be saying nothing. He will hide away and let other people take the blame. That's what cowards do.

If I wanted to define the word "smug" to someone I would just show them that picture.

Nice to put forward the pocket money.  If they dumped in the money under the table it would probably cure the virus!

with hundreds of millions on your bank account, you can "donate" one of your "income", as long as the other streams keep coming in

how much does the dude PAY HIMSELF ?

Donating a year's wages would be more realistic and fair ....

How about they donate what they've stolen from the Thai people and collected in bribes during a lifetime of disservice to their nation? Now THAT would really be newsworthy!
