I have a Retirement Extension and am leaving June 23rd for about 10 Days I know I will need a Re entry Permit but can I get it at Immigration in Pattaya and if so when should I get it I need to do a 90 Day check in on April 25th so could I do it then or is that too far from the travel date and it will expire ? Thanks

You can apply for at the immigration office any time. The re-entry permit will allow re-entry for the same period as your extension is valid.

Fee: Baht 1000 for single, Baht 3800 or multiple.

as far as i know and based from my experiences in re-entry permits,

1st > you can get it in the airport departure area before immigration

2nd> you can get it anytime cause they just asked your travel dates then in the stamp they put date of issue and lenght of stay (meaning the visa in your passport)

3rd> you have options like multiple re-entry is advisable if you go out many times during the duration of your visa cause a single entry means you have to get another re-entry if you want to go out again after coming back los

just make sure when you come back los -- as some immig officers don't check it good especially if you have the stamp in a different page -- is that you check that arrival stamp immig gives you is the last date of your visa. if they stamp you with only 30 days on arrival and you didn't notice it would be hard to appeal afterwards. this happened to my friend.

1. At airport it is inside the departure immigration area now and there is no facility for photos so you must have time and remember photo - best to do at an immigration office.

2. You can do at any time and the re-entry permit will have the same expiration date as your current permitted to stay stamp.

3. Cost is 1,000 baht single entry of 3,800 baht multi entry - but remember it is only valid until your current permitted to stay stamp so if you are on a one month extension it would probably not make much sense to purchase a multi entry.

4. On return you enter the re-entry stamp number/information on your arrival card in the visa information area. As stamp will have to be manually set you should be sure to check your passport after it is returned to make sure your permitted to stay date is correct.

On the TM6 Arrival Card in the box marked Visa do you put the Extension of Stay hand written number or the Re-entry Permit Number?

Also the Permitted to Stay stamp that you obtain upon return from an exit from the kingdom must presumably be the expiry date of the Extension of Stay date?

The re-entry permit number. The arrival stamp should be the same expiration date as you one year permitted to stay stamp and your re-entry permit expiration date. Last time I arrived it was hand written but that was several years ago.
