Police and Thai bomb disposal experts were called to a deserted four story building in Lad Prao Soi 62 after a suspicious looking device was found on the flat roof.

It was an imitation bomb connected to an alarm clock.

Nearby was a map of Bangkok though it is not understood as yet what the significance of this may be.

The building has been empty for several years and was formerly a photocopy shop with rental accommodation.

The owner had sent in some employees to inspect the property when the suspicious things were discovered by chance and the Wang Thong Lang police were alerted.

Daily News reported that a person living nearby was helping police with their inquiries.
