Visa Run to Satun and CoronaVirus

Hello dear friends, 

I suppose to go do my border run for 90 days to Satun on Sunday by myself, i have a question is border ok in Satun open on Sunday? And any news about virus, who was there nearest days, any changes?

Border crossings do not close on weekends or holidays.

You will probably have your temperature checked when you enter Malaysia and then again when entering Thailand.

Unless something has changed in the past couple weeks you'll have to spend a night in Malaysia. See my post here;

I would have thought that a visa run to Mars would be quicker. If you go to Satun they will have you running round in rings.

Where are you traveling from?

The crossing to Myanmar at Ranong might be a good choice.

A far as I know it is not needed for entry to Malaysia or Myanmar.

I was at the Satun crossing in January and was told that I would have to stay in Malaysia 24 hours next time, I also talked with a Visa Run company in Phuket and they have stopped using that crossing because of this.

 

I am due to do another run early April, I was planning to do the Andaman Club in Ranong but have now decided to go to Langkawi for a few days so will take the ferry from Satun.

 

I have heard that the Pedang Besar border is still good for coming straight back.

No test being done entering Thai nor Malaysia on Satun borders. Not even alcogel by the fingerscanner so make sure to bring your own.

Reviving a thread on a border crossing from March makes about as much sense as reviving one from 20 years ago. The current situation is that the border with Malaysia is closed (probably for an extended period for foreigners in general) and no one can predict the conditions for entry to Malaysia and Thailand once the border reopens.

Best to check for updates about Malaysia and for here.

Both sides of the border are closed at this time.

thailand land borders are closed till may 31st and after than....who knows
