The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) did not prohibit the production, import and sales of sanitiser hand gels , provided the products have an alcohol content of at least 70 per cent in accordance with the new Royal Gazette enforced on Tuesday (March 10), said secretary general Paisarn Dunkumm.

The Public Health Ministry previously announced through the Royal Gazette that the gels must contain alcohol at the aforementioned level, to be effective against the new coronavirus ( Covid-19).

Moreover, alcohol used as the main ingredient must be ethanol, isopropanol, or n-propanol or a combination of all three to reach the specified level.

"The ministry set the level of alcohol content to ensure effectiveness of the products, Gels with alcohol content below 70 per cent will be banned from production, import and sales".

“Also, people are allowed to produce the hand gels themselves, but the alcohol proportion must be over 70 per cent” he added.

People can check details of the products via Oryor Smart Application, www.fda.moph.go.th, or hotline 1556.

Could this requirement please be relayed to The MedicPharma Co LTD in Samut Sakon, to properly describe the contents of their product called Handi-C? The label just says alcoholic solution???

Cures alcoholics if they drink it or make it quick drying as a hand wash?

Mentions nothing about the % of alcohol in the bottle?

P.S. Will this incur alcohol tax???

Lao Khao no good then?

55 percent

It contains no more than 15-percent alcohol but, if distilled, it will turn into lao khao(Thai rice whiskey) with an alcohol content of up to 55 percent.

Some businesses are booming as never before with fear of the Wuhan virus feeding a panic-buying frenzy. As demand for some "essentials" outstrips supply, people are paying through the nose for (mostly useless) surgical face masks and up to ten quid a time in the UK for a toilet roll.

Talk about an ill wind - now veering auspiciously in the direction of manufacturers and retailers of hand sanitisers. But before you shell out on gallons of protective gunk. . .

Yes it's made up by the NWO to take control of the sheeple. I'm afraid that conspiracy theory boat has long since sailed.

An Italian doctor at the heart of the coronavirus outbreak that has placed the country under lockdown has painted a grim picture of the deadly illness.

The doctor urged people not to describe Covid-19 as a bad case of the flu.

“Now, explain to me which flu virus causes such a rapid drama. … And while there are still people who boast of not being afraid by ignoring directions, protesting because their normal routine is ‘temporarily’ put in crisis, the epidemiological disaster is taking place,” he said.

“And there are no more surgeons, urologists, orthopedists, we are only doctors who suddenly become part of a single team to face this tsunami that has overwhelmed us.

Wow! Sure jerked your chain, for some reason. Seriously, I was just trying to stop people wasting their money (again).

Oh, and give my regards to your mates on the Trilateral Commission!!!

"panic-buying hand sanitizer is slightly absurd — when all you need is water (and a little bit of soap)".

Don't take my word for it.

It's for when you don't have immediate access to water and soap..... Holding on to a handrail on a bus, for instance....

Or pressing the buttons on a lift. Or taking banknotes out of ATM. Or picking up your change in the supermarket. Or opening doors in public buildings. Or pushing the flush handle in a beerbar toilet. . . . .

Or aren't we just being incredibly paranoid in a country of 60 million people with relative handful infections and a handful of deaths?
