surely the OLD passport will not be valid....usually a corner is cut

    Really? I suppose that's why I was able to leave and enter Thailand with only my new passport in February. Retirement visa.

    Do not forget to up date your drivers licence and your bank book (if you have them) with your new passport details.

If an OLD invalid passport contains a valid visa the visa remains valid hence the need to present both old(with a valid visa) and new passports
