TM30 Reporting No Longer Required by Renters

Mr K has just been to Promenada for our bit of the TM30 reporting following an overseas trip - he was sent away, the officer said 'No need. Landlord only'.

(We have a new landlord and even though I stressed how important it was that he do it straight away and email me the screenshot, he still hasn't sent it.  Not my problem, not my fine.)

For the online TM30, I have no problem with doing it if I'm able to; the landlord registered when we moved in, he just hasn't got back to me since telling him we were back (Saturday).  I really don't want to rely on him doing it as he's missed the first time which makes me very weary; I looked at the page for registration and the app, but second box to fill in is Thai ID card number.  Is this system only for owners, or would I be able to register (either there or somewhere else?

The most relevant question is: Is it possible to get an extension or whatever if nobody filed a TM30?

Probably related to what i was told a few weeks ago:

You are not going to get an extension in the CM Immigration district without a copy of a TM30.

Immigration says it's on the landlord.  Landlord refuses.

Foreigner goes for extension.  Pays 1600 thb fine or doesn't get extension.

  New system guarantees increased income.

My recent experience to update/report my TM.30 was met by the CM IO that my wife who owns the house must report either in person at Promenada or do it online.  When explained to the IO my wife was currently out of the country and was not computer savvy, he just waved me off and said I should do it online for my wife.

I was able to register online as my wife and was successful to report my latest arrival.

Immigration Officers encouraging people to engage in identity theft, lol.

4 weeks ago after registering my new tenants I was told that the tenant who signed the agreement can and should report any changes related to those foreigners in the property.
