Great Covid-19 idea! Condos and tall buildings using toothpicks and cotton buds to press lift buttons instead of fingers

Sanook said that many condos and tall buildings were adopting an idea that appears to have started at a tech university.

They are using things like toothpicks and cotton buds to press lift buttons in tall buildings instead of fingers.

The low tech answer to the spread of the coronavirus features things like toothpicks provided in a tray with instructions on their use.

Then there is a handy plastic bottle or cup to collect the throwaways.

The idea was shared online after it appeared in photos from the King Mongkut's University of Technology in North Bangkok.

After praise for the uni now everybody is coming up with their own ideas to beat the virus.

One picture featured a bunch of toothpicks stuck in a polystyrene block - no one at Sanook questioned that someone must have touched the toothpick to put it there and they might have been infected themselves, notes Thaivisa.

Why not , you aren't touching the buttons , even if it saves 1 infection it is well worth it . Do think about the spread .... the 1 person who doesn't get it , in the end doesn't spread 1000 cases . If everybody does take measures it wouldn't come to were we are now . It still helps , even if it is 1 person every person is 1 , only 7 billion to go . The sooner we stop it the better for everybody . We are at war , economy is at war , tourist industry is at war , everybody is at is ... fight the fight you can win , wash your hands , avoid contacts , and if a toothpick helps , why not .

So use the toothpick and stick it back in the board?

Or perhaps someone at sanook figured if they where smart enough to come up with the idea they where smart enough to sterilise their hands before touching the toothpicks :coffee1:

I'd be looking for the cheese and melon samples

I have for years pressed lift buttons (which are touched hourly by many people) with a key as I'm usually carrying one in a lift.

Covid just makes this more important.

If I must use a finger I use  a knuckle on my right hand (I'm left-handed)  instead of finger tip  (less likely to touch my face with that!)

I suppose someone could give you a hand!
