giddyup
Noticed a little soreness on the outside of my elbow the last few days and today a large lump has appeared. It's quite spongy as though it's full of fluid and very little pain. It's not an insect bite or from any kind of knock, so a bit mystified as to what it might be. Sheryl
Most likely bursitis, and since it is painless and you don't mention any redness or heat, maybe aseptic bursitis see https://orthoinfo.aaos.org/en/diseases--conditions/elbow-olecranon-bursitis/ Should the skin around it turn red and warn to the touch need to see a doctor, otherwise conservratieve management at home may suffice, lots of tips online including here https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/bursitis/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20353247

vogie
I once had the same, I think it was tennis elbow, I played a lot of squash. Yes it was very spongy, but after a while it turned very hard and I still have a rock hard protusion there after maybe 25 years.

Will also try an ice pack and compression bandage.

It did not respond and eventually ended up in hospital and had to have the bone scraped because the infection had spread. I was in Aus at the time. Be very careful. Good luck
