Still in it's Edo period. Not many places in Asia moved forward and those that did had a helping hand ( often admittedly forced upon them ) from the west.

Perhaps the richest family in Thailand could announce a plan to start sharing their wealth through direct monthly support payments to all the Thai citizens who are becoming temporarily unemployed because of the CV outbreak....

 

It would be mere pocket change, comparatively speaking...

Had to look that up but spot on. Thailand's best hope is for a mid-level army coup by young turks against the dinosaurs that can bring the conscripts with them. I hope and pray those forces are stirring within the green.

Something's can't be said here but on social media I am seeing an enormous explosion of fearless anger - with a pretty obvious source for it's target. We are entering revolutionary times for sure.

If it ever happens, it's likely to have the same cause as many others: economic hardship. That is coming for sure.

 

Unfortunately it can get worse than it is now. People like Hitler got into power during such events. The one that changed west as we know it, the French Revolution, was a complicated and far reaching thing. So was the Arab spring. Perhaps there could be something brewing in the entire SEA.

It will be fine, Deputy Anutin said in his interview that Thai people will support Thai People and the Government will support them and that he has a very hard job but he is trusted by his people, although he supports a cabinet reshuffle as a few months already passed since election and I will resign if people want me to but he gives his all everyday......<deleted> does any of that mean? It will be managed like everything else here: denial, neglect, confusion, misinformation, disinformation, corruption, scapegoating, More neglect. Allowing the problem to wash over the population. Pick up the pieces in the aftermath. Provide false promises and assistance. Ask the survivors to pick themselves up out of the street and move on.

same in wife's village ,just outside Prasat markets closed forcing them to shop at big stores at triple the price. [guess i'll have 3 sick buffaloes to pay for now ]

If this situation doesnt improve on short notice, I feel a massive land grab by elite and Chinese conglomerates coming. With the circulation of money slowing down , a lot of Thai families will be forced to sell their last remaining assets, their lands and properties. In the worst case scenario, we might even witness a change in foreign ownership policies. I cannot think of another economic kickstarter.

In Calgary, there still is gatherings of up to 50 people allowed, why?

  At one party the spokesperson said, well there were some who were from

out of town and even country attending.  Lovely!  Those air travellers may have

been a few of the super spreaders.  There was an Indian Canadian wedding held

in Surrey,  Vanvouver BC, and the same thing was stated,  will these gatherings

lead to even more virus cases?  I think so..

If they close all the local market in rural areas people will have no food, there are no Big Stores locally, not an option, most of the rural areas are the same set up.

It's 20 kilometers to the nearest big store from where I live hard to get there on a tractor or bring back enough on a bike
