Here we see the big difference between developing countries like Thaiand and developed countries.

Many Western countries are breaking their budgets to compensate people who are laid off work, whether permanent or temporary, as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. Here most of those who will be sent home will receive not a single baht from the Government, whose generosity so far has extended to give a 3% discount on electricity and water bills. It's surely time to dig into the reserves and help Thai citizens.

And the situation has now been exacerbated with the closure of shopping malls and markets in Bangkok. How are market traders going to make any sort of living and will stores continue to pay their stay-at-home staff? Come on Prayut, you need to help them....and that doesn't mean giving them a 1,000 baht shopping voucher!

the Australian PM response to this in Australia was they should look for another job, what a C

With the new regulations imposed Medical certificate and the Corona insurance tourism in Thailand is going to sink faster than the Titanic and it’s the Thai people who are going to suffer not the idiot who thought up these new measures. There are currently around 6,000 Thai students in the U.K. wanting to get home where are they going to get their Corona Free medical certificates from as the doctors are to busy trying to saves lives of those who are suffering this terrible virus .Thailand should do the same as the U.K. has done and send military aircraft to the U.K. to pick up their citizens there is no need for a stupid meaningless certificate place them in quarantine when they get back to Thailand.

Six thousand Thais in US universities as well. And normally a third-million mainland Chinese. I won't deny that some of them will hear racist remarks and also there are a few Youtube recordings of Chinese being attacked on subways or buses.

I thought I read earlier, they are letting the Chinese back in by the end of the month ?

I don't know if that true but if the number of people infected in Thailand continues to increase will Chinese tourists want to come here and will the Chinese government want them returning?

No aid to prostitutes, pimps or bar girls. To hell with them.

They will find themselves new distant "boyfriends" or in times of dire need, many.

And no need to consider the unwanted situation of more than 1 boyfriend visiting at the same time as the country will be in lockdown.

On a sad note, I can see many buffalos requiring future major surgery as the crisis continues and the search online for financial sponsors increasing. For us past our prime, I suspect we will become more desirable and handsome until the migration of receptionists resumes back to the tourist hotspots.

It is wider than just tourism. A woman I know who works at a perfume counter in The Mall Bangkae,  told me that they have no customers and the store is considering closing the counter. No unemployment payments in Thailand. How can the average person. survive?? Fortunately for her, a boyfriend in the UK is going to send her some money. This woman has a heart of gold and helps everyone she can. Glad that someone was there for her when she needed it.
