Tourist Visa Extension for Dentist Treatment

Featured Replies

French passport holder has stayed in Bangkok with 30 days on-arrival visa since 31 Jan, had already asked for extend stay with the dentist's report. She has started 11 teeth implant process since 1 Feb and need to stay until mid of May to finish. She planed to do the border run visa, but with covid-19, the situation is getting worse. The immigration had not approved longer than 30 days visa extension. The given reason is that doctor documents (from clinic) is not from hospital, anyhow it can be proved that teeth are under installation. Visa has been approved only 30 days on 27 Feb which covid-19 had not been severe as now. We will go back to immigration next week with the doctor evidence. Please advise if there is any possibility to get 60 days approval. Should we go to ask for help/advise from French embassy? Or if we can pay the fine for 60 days overstay without punishment (as per below). Or which nearby countries should she go out and re-enter?

Judging by the information you provide it is unlikely that a further extension will be granted. It is also unlikely that pre-payment for a planned overstay will be accepted.

She could get a 30 day extension under the memorandum issued by immigration on the 18th of this month.

Since she entered visa exempt (not a 15 day visa on arrival) she can apply for another 30 day extension.

Thank you so much for your advise. Be happy!

Good luck with all that.

Thinking with that level of dental work the amount of time required would be well know in advance. Enter on 30 day exempt was mistake. Setv + extension would have covered it.

The notion that the 30 day extension based upon Covid issue is a given is far from accurate. It's not simple. Read current threads. Embassy letters, etc. Some people being given 7 days. Some refused.

Visa is going to expired on 30 Mar. Today we went to the new office and get stamped until 24 April. New office for 30 days visa (not for 90 days report which has just moved back to CW this morning).  The new building of Central Invesitigation Bureau; located at the entrance of Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park; Popular Road, Pakkred, Nonthaburi. The gate on Popular Road is closed, please use the gate on the pararell road of expressway. Get off the express way exit 2-12; cross the red light and then turn right follow the Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park sign. **** Do not follow google map to the park since it takes exit 2-13. ***  https://www.matichon.co.th/news-monitor/news_2090068?read_meta=%7B%22label%22%3A%22articlepage_number3%22%7D# image.png.c62a27433f6d9065ef1b97a9d3c87e5f.png
