Friday The 13th Is Comming (not The Movie)

Featured Replies

I'm going to stay home but not because it's friday the 13th but because it's the start of Songkran.

According to what I researched this day is considered lucky or unlucky depending on which part of the globe you're from.

It is also not really clear why and many theories exist but none conclusive (sorry Dan Brown).

Would like to know how you feel about it.

My wife told me it is only important this year because it's Songkran but no other relevance in Thailand

Cheers

It's considered unlucky by Christian culture because there were 13 at the table of the last supper & Friday was the day Christ was crucified. Whether this is Dan Brown's theory or not, I don't know, but it is what I read in a book about origins of superstitions more than 20 years ago (so long before Dan Brown was famous!)

As for the lottery ticket. Don't buy it, it'll get soaked & turn to mush! :o

Fear of Friday 13: paraskavedekatriaphobia.

Friday 13 was the day Athena sent Perseus to kill my Aunty. I think.

I view it as a day to invite black cats and witches round for milk, kvetch's brew and a rerun of the Wizard of Oz.

Also look up The Knights Templar.
