Forgive my ignorance. I have been to Thailand many times but am now spending around 6 months per year here and am a little confused with the new rules. If anyone can give me a definitive answer I will be most obliged. I am a UK passport holder but live in a Country where I cannot get a visa for entry to Thailand, and it is too costly to travel via UK where I could get a visa, so I normally get a 30 day visa on entry then do a side trip to Phnom Penh or Saigon to get my visa. Last year I left Thailand on Oct. 5th. I returned again on March 14th. (visa on entry), and will leave again on 12th April (tomorrow). I then wish to come back on 1st. July and get a visa on entry. I am worried that I may be refused entry on July 1st. because I will not have been away for 90 days. Am I worrying unduly?

You should be fine under both the 90 days and fixed six months. As you entered on March 14 and were allowed to say until after April 4th (six months from original visa free entry) it appears they are using more than one yardstick to measure with. But can not think of any that would cause you a problem in July.

Thanks for the quick reply, Lopburi. Anyone else got an opinion?
