Stay indoors message falls on deaf ears in Pattaya as people continue to visit the beach

Despite repeated requests from officials in Thailand for members of the public to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary, there are still people congregating and socialising on and alongside Pattaya beach.

 

Photos posted on the official Pattaya city Facebook page on Wednesday showed a significant amount of people gathered on the beach. Some people could be seen drinking and sunbathing.

 

Pattaya Police officers and Banglamung District officials told the people not to congregate on the beach to drink alcohol and to wear a mask when outdoors. 

 

The news comes as Chonburi Governor Pakathorn Tienchai announced on Wednesday that it is now mandatory for everyone to wear a mask when outdoors. Those who do not wear a face mask face being fined and could even be imprisoned.

If everyone stayed indoors domestic violence will increase and old people will die from lack of exercise.

 

Given once one has had the virus and either had minimal symptoms or has recovered, one should be immune, so an enterprising person would be able to start a home "massage" service with immune girls. There is now a quick test to ascertain if one has antibodies. 

 

Making even recovered people lockdown is just crazy. They should be getting back to work.

How about Fining them instead of just mask

best test for the girls is if they are hot, young, slim and pretty  then they are immune.   

If your stuck in a bedsit somewhere it might be a bit difficult. For example, the people I know in the UK have houses with gardens, and I, myself, in Thailand, have a fair bit of ground around me. But if you've built your life around using your room just for sleep, well then it's gonna be hard. Those four walls close in pretty quickly.

Not just Thai - many other nationalities represented in those pix.

Don't see any reason to have to stay indoors.

Easy enough to avoid other people outdoors.

I've just walked around my garden without a mask on.

Later I'll be playing badminton in the street outside with my misses and kids.

 

The Thai (military) authorities live for the opportunity to make people miserable.

They'd ban sex and alcohol (for everyone else) permanently if they could get away with it.

Social distancing makes sense. Banning people from being outdoors while social distancing does not.

 

But why bother with logic when you can stampede the sheep into the pen by barking like a sheepdog?

if there is no curfew and they observe safe social distancing and wear masks where is the problem?

They don't need to congregate next to each other, it's clear these people weren't even trying.

 

That guy with his own chair, could have chosen anywhere to sit, but decides to sit right near everyone else..

Going out for no essential reason is pure selfishness..oh and the argument about catching it only harms yourself is BS, that then makes you a carrier hence infecting others and also a drain on already over stretched health services..Stay the f#@@ home...that's it, what's so hard to understand...fine them, lock them up, make an example...sooner people are sensible, sooner we get back to normality

Because people don't do social distancing...I'm hunkered down for three weeks already but occasionally have to shop for food...dread it, idiots can't get close enough when there is a whole shop to stand in...I've had three confrontations already telling people to get the f away from me....

Sorry to rain on your nice idea, but would they be worth any more than the monthly check ups?

 Not all of us lives in fear and lets life live them. The world shutting down for a virus is bat<deleted> crazy. Each and every death around the world is a family tragedy...NOT international news or even newsworthy at all. There are plenty more likely causes of death each and every year that no one ever even gives a thought. 

 

The outcome of shutting down Planet Earth may well prove way more damaging than losing a fraction of one percentage point of the global population.

I've been practising social distancing for years, would cross the road to avoid passing by another white guy.

Look the other way when near a foreigner in the supermarket, etc., etc.

What's wrong with going for a walk on a deserted beach and getting a vitamin D boost from the sun?
