nycjoe
I am 75 years old with mild COPD, my retirement visa expires on May 11, I am staying home until I feel safe to venture out. Is there any talk about giving an extension for retirement visas. I am not going anywhere so a three month extension would be better for me and the immigration officers.
ubonjoe
There is no extension you can apply for or any exemption from doing your one year extension of stay before it expires. If you have proof of a medical condition that would make it a high risk for you out of your home to apply for the extension you could designate somebody to do it for you.
MrMuddle
I'm in the same boat, (different condition), to the OP. How hard is it for Immigration to send out a three month extention to last years retirement visa, provided the financial rules have been adhered to? Really disappointed, as it looks as though I'll have to put my life on the line, by going to the Immigration office. It's the 21st Century for goodness sake, they should be doing better than this.
