Bt5,000 handouts: rejected registrants can appeal

Registrants of the government’s Bt5,000 handout campaign who failed the screening process will be able to make an appeal online next week.

The finance minister’s secretary Thanakorn Wangboonkongchan said today (April 14) that next week the website www.เราไม่ทิ้งกัน.com (“We do not leave anyone behind”) will add the “make an appeal” button for rejected registrants to file a case for Finance Ministry reconsideration.

The campaign is offering eligible citizens whose livelihoods were impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak Bt5,000 a month for three months. To be eligible, candidates must be Thai nationals aged over 18, be self-employed, freelance or non-permanent employees who are not insured under social security.

“Please refrain from coming down to the ministry building to make an appeal as it will increase the risk of Covid-19 spreading from public gathering,” he said. “Submitting an appeal via the website is the fastest and most convenient way to be reconsidered. If you have any question about registration, please contact Krungthai Bank’s call centre via 02-111-1144 at any time, or the Fiscal Policy Office call centre at 02-273-9020 [office hours only],” he added.
