"Welcome back, this way for quarantine!" Thais stranded in neighboring countries set to return on Saturday

Thailand's Immigration Bureau said yesterday that they would be working with other agencies to allow Thais in neighboring countries back into Thailand on April 18th, next Saturday.

But they will have to agree to spend two weeks in government quarantine.

Some 23 crossing points between Thailand and Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos will be open for Thais only in 21 provinces.

Thais must have "Fit to Travel" health documents, must have registered their intention to leave with the embassy in the foreign country and must agree to a mandatory 14 day quarantine.

Spokesman Pol Col Cherngron Rimphadee said that returnees will be limited to 100 per province.

As soon as temperature and documentation checks have been done the returnee will be taken away to government quarantine facilities arranged in each province, he said.

Only Thais can cross.

No foreign migrants will be allowed.

non-o multi visas are dead now right ?

14 days in the country you want to get a visa at a Thai Embassy

but hey, if you are in quarantine, how are you allowed to go to an Embassy ?  I guess not

than on your way back, same same, 14 days in government quarantine

who pays for that ? the quarantine ? out of pocket against your will or free ?

They shouldn't have to prove or provide anything other than evidence of their nationality, and should be given <deleted> tests on arrival at no cost. They are only allowing a couple hundred a day so its not like they are getting overwhelmed.

Testing everyone has got to be cheaper than quarantining them for 15 days.
