Have to say I don't remember all these infected Thai Health workers mentioned in daily statistics?

At least 102 healthcare workers in Thailand have been infected with Covid-19, sending their hospitals into partial lockdown and suspending most services for up to 14 days. With grim statistics like these, it is clear bolder steps are urgently needed to protect medical personnel during the outbreak.

Interesting status update from Google about Thailand. They gather these stats by tracking people that use their services, like Google Maps or Android phones:

Seems the lockdowns are working.

Not in South Dakota and four other red states. The rapid rise in South Dakota is particularly alarming. And why only RED states resisting lockdowns? Things that make you scratch your head in wonder - how stupid can people really be?

No I don't remember that's exactly why I asked. Thanks for the links however. I see the latest one on the 9th April mentions 80 health workers infected, so since then there's been an increase of at least 22. A large jump. No wonder our dear health minister opened his mouth again.

Medical personnel still lack personal protective equipment (PPE) suits to cope with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) while there are enough masks for them, Deputy Prime Minister/Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said. https://www.mcot.net/viewtna/5e99594ee3f8e40af443a1c8

Better than telling them its their fault for getting infected I suppose.

Despite the relatively low number of new coronavirus cases in Thailand, hospitals are already reaching capacity in dealing with patients that need ICU treatment and ventilators… this from Boon Vanasin, chairman of Thonburi Healthcare Group.

He claims that the three main hospitals in Bangkok specialising in Covid-19 treatment are already full, even university hospitals in Bangkok are full.

Good, they picked it up, Bangkok Post published it first yesterday. Bit hard to get relevant information into threads sometimes, because we have to wait for another source that can be linked to.

Healthcare leader predicts 200,000 people could be infected with Covid-19

He claims that the three main hospitals in Bangkok specialising in Covid-19 treatment are already full, even university hospitals in Bangkok are full.

He estimates the actual number of infections at as much as 40 times higher than reported, as 80% of people with the virus do not show symptoms. This means about 200,000 people could have the virus and not know it.

In BKK Post the hospitals were named, they are Chula, Siriraj and Bamrasnaradura (the main government infectious diseases hospital, where I gathered Dr. Tanarak Plipat who was just interviewed by FCCT is situated).

I called for Nation to publish it too. Crickets.
