The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Saturday (April 18) that a thermal low covers the North and the upper Central regions, while the southerly and southeasterly winds bring humidity to the lower North, the Northeast, the Central and the East regions. The easterly winds also blow over the South.

Hot to very hot weather is forecast in the North and upper Central while thundershowers are likely in some parts of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East regions. People should beware of severe weather. The South still has rain distribution.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

Northern region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 21-29 degrees and highs of 37-41 degrees Celsius.

Northeastern region: Hot with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 21-26 degrees and highs of 35-37 degrees Celsius.

Central region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-28 degrees, highs of 36-40 degrees Celsius.

Eastern region: Thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-28 degrees, highs of 29-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

Southern region (east coast): Thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-27 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and two metres during thundershowers.

Southern region (west coast): Thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 32-34 degree Celsius; waves a metre high and two metres during thundershowers.

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 26-28 degrees, highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius.

Heaps of wind and thunder yesterday arvo, but again storm went around us ,did drop temp from 40c+ to 29c.

Didn't pass my area. Very strong winds, some heavy rain. Knocked down power lines. We've been without electricity for about 4 hours already and I don't think it's gonna get fixed tonight...

Alhamdilallah ! 1st rain since 10th Jan , 8.30 tonight 10 mins of intense downpour. More would be welcome but we live in hope.
