Looking at it strictly from a legal perspective, if you stay over 180 days and you transferred the money to Thailand it would apply. Now of course you can then argue that DTA applies, you'd have to prove it. Lying to them is generally a bad idea, as they have all the systems and manpower to check what you say is true, so unless you can lie and the evidence would support your lie, teling the truth is safer. -

You would hope so and the people of most countries with any self respect would. However, the people's failure to respond to the election sham in any meaningful way points to the fact that they will not. I spoke to several Thai's following the election and the mood seems to be that whatever they do, it will be a waste of time. They seem resigned to the fact that they will be s h a t on forever. We can but hope that their application for a seat on the UN HRC is now denied, as it almost certainly will be now and that stirs up something but somehow I doubt even that. They will consider they will lose face by being denied a seat but they will lose more face, closer to home if the court's decision is overturned. Absolute disgrace - much the same as the c r a p that the Thai public has been expected to believe with the Thaksin fiasco. This and all previous governments + the military and judiciary treat the Thai people like 5 year olds and just spout whatever childish rubbish they like. Oh, and there's no sex for sale in Pattaya either - another line fed to the public. -

Corruption has a long history dating back to the Mandarins in China. Their pay was very poor and they were expected to make a living by charging for their services. Indeed, when I was dealing with the Vietnamese government back in the 60’s, it took an appropriate bribe to get anything done expeditiously. When I visited Vietnam in the 80’s, the local newspapers were full of stories about scams and incidents of corruption. The positive side of corruption is that it enables you to do many exceptional things that would not be possible without the payoff. In fact, many posters on this site willingly accept using agents to get extensions of stay knowing that there will be corruption involved. Perhaps we are hypocritical. -

What he will do is take votes away from Trump. He's even further right. I am predicting Harris/Walz will win because they look normal against the ongoing soap opera that is Trump/Vance. Soap operas reach their use-by date. When you have senior Republicans saying they will vote for Harris, that's a house divided.- 2
