The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has published terms of reference for contractors bidding for the contract to repair GEA (General Electric Airbrake) locomotives, acting SRT governor Worawut Mala revealed.

The process will be conducted via electronic bidding, with the mid-price set at Bt1.67 billion, he explained. The public hearing for the deal began on Monday (April 20) and will be held until this July, with the bid winner announced by the end of this year.

Interested parties will be permitted to make a single bid for the contract, which covers repairs on 36 diesel-electric locomotives. The bidding also mandates a pledge of Bt84.60 million.

The contract winner will have a deadline of 1,200 days to complete the project after taking delivery of the locomotives from the SRT.

Are they all the same manufacturer, or does the winner have to repair 20 different manufacturers engines...and how many different models.  If it’s like the busses, they will need many different parts

probably mostly all the same engine, all manufatured by former Wabtec (Westinghouse Air Brake Tec) Corporation, now GETS (GE Transportation Systems).
When oh when will Thailand electrify it's train system and build overhead lines (and 1435mm gauge of course)
