Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
Medical mask vending machine opens in Samut Prakan Amid the medical mask shortage in Thailand, a vending machine for surgical masks is now in operation in Samut Prakan province. It is the second mask vending machine after one for cloth masks opened on the Airport Link train route in the beginning of April. People in Samut Prakarn shared a photo of the medical mask vending machine, creating excitement among netizens. The machine sells disposable medical masks at Bt100 per pack consisting of 10 pieces. The three-layer surgical mask offers 95 per cent protection against bacteria, and is located in front of Serm Suk Market 2, Bang Bo district. Popular Post Welder
The mask protect others from 95% of what is coming from your mouth, they do not protect you from your surroundings. If somebody sneezes at you they dont protect you from bacterea and virus. They are only ok for protect other people from your sneezes et.c. You need at least a N95 class on a mask to be safe. To sell theese masks and others like them calling them safe are just a way to make easy money from people that are worried about the ongoing virus pandemic and because of that are willing to pay overprice just to feel safe. You are not safe with masks like that.
bbi1
Are they gonna charge and arrest the vending machine owner for price gouging? Surgical masks as meant to be sold at 10 baht for a pack of 4 (2.5 baht each), not 100 baht for a pack of 10 (10 baht each). 1

Agree and N95 is the basic entry level mask to protect against bacteria to a reasonable level and as you know they are not pleasant to wear for extended periods . Plus as a welder you will know that the mask has to be a sealed fit against the face with no gaps . They seem to be a rarity at the moment and even front line medics do not have them , only the type seen from the vending machine

I have been using the same vendor off aliexpress for a couple of years. I just paid around $3 per mask for a bunch. Pre Covid they were like $1. You are not safe with masks like that. Yeah - but if everyone is wearing a mask, then that helps reduce 95% of what's coming from everyone's mouth, right? So everyone's safer if everyone wears them.
