Have not seen anyone post about getting in Langkawi and Phnom Penh experience I would not wish on anyone (although it is probably available one time). Laos, Malaysia or Singapore are the best in area but you should be able to get in Hong Kong.

Why didnt anybody get tourist visa in Langkawi and Phnom Penh yet?

I think I did see a post about Langkawi and its just for Thai workers and will not issue visa's to tourists etc.

In PP some have gotten a TV but it comes with a warning not to come back. I did read about someone in PP who used a hotel/Agent and paid an extra fee and they ran the visa thru easier.

Best to stick to Malaysia and Laos. Singapore and Vietnam are okay but you probably need to show onward plane ticket.

How about phnom penh?

Can I get single tourist visa there?

I got a tourist visa in phnom penh last week, but I was very lucky.  A guy in front of me was denied a tourst visa.  Plus, I remember also being denied a tourist visa there before, about 2-3 years ago.  When I was denied a tourist visa before, the woman told me to just go to the border and get the free 30 day stamp instead.  Back then, this was no problem, but now it's a big problem.

Also, in my passport, when I got my visa last week, they stamped _3 times_ in red: "DO NOT APPLY NEW VISA AT PHNOM PENH AGAIN" (sic). Plus they stapled a piece of paper with the same message on the front cover of my passport as well.  One thing's for sure, I'm not going to apply there ever again!

I need to find another place to apply for a TV in the next 3 months.

you do have some choices

First the easy ones with no request for onward tickets etc

Kuala lumpur, Penang and Khota Baru in Malaysia

Ventiane and Savanakhet in Laos

Then ones where they might/will ask for outbound plane tickets

Hanoi, HCMC Vietnam

Hong Kong

Singapore

There are a number of places its not quite clear if they ask for onward tickets or not because there are not so many people going there but I have seen reports of getting TV's in

Bandar Seri Begawan Brunei

Kumming and Chengdu China

Bali Indonesia

Colombo Sri Lanka

Completely forget about myanmar and philipines.

If going to penang by airasia, the morning flight arrive at 10;05AM, is that enough to go to counsalate ?

How often is the airasia delay?

Do not rely on Air Asia to take you there in time as they do not have a good track record for being on time. Plan a longer trip to make sure.

as many have said here and in different posts, DO NOT GO TO PNOMH PENH...

I didn't believe them last time, but was blankly and very rudely denied my tourist visa (clean shaved, proper clothes, speak fluent thai, none of this helped) and was lucky there was not the onward ticket issue back to arane at the time (4 monthes ago).

does somebody has an explanation about why pnomh penh consulate is such a tourist-unfriendly place ? (though at the time, arane border was actually quite friendly and helpful - had some issues with getting my bike out of thailand into cambodia and they really helped a lot)

This is realy true what I've seen with my own eyes from two Swiss passport holders - stamped 2 times in red over the Visa with a difference size of stamps...

If dont have any job, what do we fill in the profession in application form?

If write retired, or jobless,or nothing,

can we get tourist visa generally?

Posted

Retired sounds good.

Consulates are normally closed on all home country and local country holidays but to be sure you really need to contact them directly.

Then can we get tourist visa if no job?

or to get tourist visa, we must write some profession?

How about you?

what do u fill in everytime?

Like Lopburi said. It's just a tourist visa, it probably does not matter what you put. I don't think they care. If not working, then "retired" should be ok. I didn't see how old you are, maybe put down student.

If it's a holiday in Thailand they most likely be closed also.

I am 48 years old,

can I bew student?

When you apply tourist visa, what did you fill in the profession?

I'm working outside of Thailand again. I put my profession. But as I said, it's a tourist visa, I don't think it's really important. In your case, just put retired.

ive got my tourist visa from vientianne, laos the last two times.its pretty painless if you know your way around,& obviously cheaper than malaysia.theres a bus from nong khai on the highway to the immigration posts 15 baht & also busses from the border to near the main accomodation area in vientianne (approx 20 baht) although mr tuktuk probably will tell you differently.in vientianne rooms can be found for 100 baht upwards.

they dont worry about proffessions or where your staying.
