Thundershowers forecast all over Thailand, isolated heavy rains in South

The Meteorological Department said today (April 28) that a rather strong high-pressure system is covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea, while a westerly wind is blowing across the North.

 

Isolated thundershowers and gusty winds are forecast for the upper country. People should stay safe from the severe weather and farmers must be prepared for crop damage, it warned.

 

Meanwhile, a strong easterly wind prevails over the Gulf and the South. Isolated heavy rains and gusty winds are forecast in many areas. The strong wind and waves over the lower Gulf from Surat Thani southward are likely at 1-2 metres and about 2 metres in areas with thundershowers.

 

Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:

 

Northern region: Thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area with isolated heavy rains and gusty winds; temperature lows of 19-24 degrees and highs of 26-35 degrees Celsius.

 

Northeastern region: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area, temperature lows of 20-24 degrees and highs of 31-35 degrees Celsius.

 

Central region: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers and gusty winds in 20 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius.

 

Eastern region: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers and gusty winds in 30 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-27 degrees, highs of 30-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

 

Southern region (east coast): Thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area with isolated heavy rains and gusty winds; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 28-33 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and 2 metres during thundershowers.

 

Southern region (west coast): Thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 30-34 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

 

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Thundershowers in 30 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius.
