The government is lifting restrictions on the following activities from Sunday (May 3), according to a report published in the Royal Gazette on Friday:

Food and beverage shops that also sell alcohol can open, but patrons are banned from consuming alcohol in these venues.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Kre-ngam, however  said that though people are not allowed to consume alcoholic beverages at eating venues, alcoholic drinks can be bought to take home.

Hotels, airports, train and bus stations, hospitals, eateries and street vendors, with the exception of bars and pubs, can sell food and beverage but on a take-home basis. If these venues want to seat patrons then they must put social-distancing measures in place.

Small wholesale and retail shops, markets and flea markets can open, but are required to check the temperature of visitors at the entrance.

Hairdressers can provide washing and cutting services, but no patrons are allowed to wait for their turn inside.

Golf courses can be opened, but no mass gatherings or competitions allowed.

Public parks can only open their outdoor sections for walking, running, cycling or exercising – no gatherings for competitions, plays or shows are allowed.

Pet care shops that provide grooming and nursing services have to strictly follow the government’s hygiene measures.

Still waiting for news about beach ban. If this is included in public parks needs to be clarified.

I'm more interested in how restaurants with A/C are going to handle this re-opening.

Of course, all this depends upon your governor.  They don't have to accept the restrictions and can order more restrictions if they feel it's necessary.

For example, the governor of Prachuab will not allow restaurants to open in the province, despite government 'guidelines' allowing it.

A long time coming but a step in the right direction

So no alcohol, and still have to wear facemasks

From the government press conference I understood that the provincial governors are allowed to order more strict rules if they feel that such are justified, but not less strict.

Can buy alcohol and invite the gang round for a drink but no wine with dinner. Is there some logice I am missing?

Golf, mass gatherings, the groups of 6 gambling Thais and 6 caddies. That is definitely a gathering.

Does not appear to be any restrictions on number of players?

So stand outside barbers in 40c for your turn and then sit with no A/C

Dont turn on the aircons keep the doors open front and back and put fans blowing the air out of the restaurant

Oh yes it is so important to get the pet hair groomers back to work, as those poor

animals have maybe had to have an emergency hair cut from the owner and now

look ghastly.

Geezer

Evil pet stores as always.  I'm not sure what planet the Thai government live on, to be honest.

Switch it off probably ?

Just an idea.

"Hairdressers" going to be flooded with men... getting their "haircuts" in the back of the shop...
