Pattaya: Cheeky monkey leads park staff on a merry dance before tranq gun brings him down

Thai Rath reported that a "Ling Saep" or cheeky monkey with a penchant for durian was annoying people at a Jomtien housing estate in Moo10.

 

Park rangers were called to deal with the mischievous simian after the two year old male pinched some of the smelly fruit and eggs.

 

But it proved to be no easy task as he was not going quietly. After two hours he was still on the loose in the rafters of Thepprasit Marketing.

The chase ended when a rifle was used to fire a tranquilizer. 

 

The monkey was taken to "cool down" and given further injections to offset the effects of the tranquilizer. 

 

He was then handed over to a center for rehab.

Darn, missed it. I expect that is the most entertaining thing to happen in Pattaya for a few months!

Probably enjoyed it looks stoned out of its mind.

Needs army attitude re-adjustment not rehab.

I've seen a potbellied near naked German do the same routine in a beer bar once. Still suffering from PTSD.

In rehab' Monkey Boy learned Durian was for amateurs so moved onto bonging .. 

 

Pattaya used to be full of cheeky monkeys; how times have changed.

I would not have used a tranquilizer ...
