Chonburi’s famous Tha Rua Plee Seafood Market will be allowed to open on Saturday (June 6) from 3pm to 9pm, the provincial department of public relations announced on Monday (June 1).

Tha Rua Plee, based in Muang district’s Makham-Yong area, is popular among locals and tourists who come to enjoy freshly caught seafood.

“Thanks to the government’s third phase of easing measures, people can now travel to other provinces. Hence, Chonburi decided to open the market in order to boost its tourism and local economy,” the department said.

The market’s normal opening hours of 4pm to 10pm have had to be adjusted in line with the 11pm to 3am curfew hours, so shoppers and vendors have enough time to return home.

All visitors and vendors are required to wear face masks and undergo screen at checkpoints that are equipped with thermal scanners. Sale and consumption of alcohol is also banned at the market.

Does anyone actually enjoy local Thai seafood? Literally tasteless imho.

Clearly cannot be compared with what we have in US or Japan.
