Military-style exercises in British schools

In the UK, a company founded by the government sends former soldiers to help school children coping with stress caused by the COVID-19.

Good idea.

Builds character and discipline.

I look forward to learning who owns this ‘Company’ to which the contract has been awarded and what experience have they and their organization in dealing with children.

Have you not heard of Google ?

Disappointing video. I was expecting to see children with wooden rifles charging at sacks of hay dangling from a cross beam and screaming their lungs out whilst pulling a face.

Or even slithering under low wire through muddy puddles.

I think most of them would have enjoyed themselves more.

Damn good idea, physical fitness has never hurt children, unfortunatly too many schools have sold off their playing fields for housing devopments, resulting in more obesity amongst school children, its not all about junk food.

Yes, and why there was no diversity in the children and staff. All white and no apparent gender confusion etc. Disgraceful.

And, those games could develop a spirit of competition. How dreadful would that be.

Why don't you contact them and demand to know the answers to your pertinent questions? I'm sure they'll be only too pleased to divulge the information to a foreigner.

You are partially right. It is the greedy Local Education Authorities (LEA) that  did that. Plus you have the gender barmy brigade who have to justify their existence and stifle and progress in anyway.

That’s the first time I’ve heard of it. Kids only went back to school yesterday.

Looks like some sensible outdoor activity - a bit of physical activity and some interesting tasks for the children with a well presented message.

Not sure about it being "military training" - no obvious cock ups, no transport turning up at the wrong place or time, nobody turning up in the wrong kit, no standing around for twenty minutes before being bollocked for being late, no cooks or Q staff throwing a wobbly because "they didn't know", where is the PTI at the end shouting about you being in your own time now? Nothing recognisably military about it at all!
