If you want to see the difference go to 1.48 and you will see the white girl driving a car lean out of the window and smile and wave for the cameras. When she does that look at what is starting to happen to the 2 black kids behind her.

Combine this with Trump's constant assault on the press and it's clear that Trump is the enemy of the First Amendment.  Not surprising, the First Amendment is a far better guard against tyranny than the Second Amendment, and Trump is definitely a tyrant wannabe.

After refusing to give public statements and hiding in a bunker he gasses peaceful protestors, has rubber bullets shot into the crowd, then gives a speech where he promises to "dominate" the streets. Then he walks to a church for a photo op. This guy is not a leader. He's a wannabe authoritarian.

trump adds fuel to the fire as he has done for years. trump makes statements to try address social divisions and within the same speech or immediately afterwards encourages further division - one step forward, two step back is not behaviour of a leader / healer. It is crystal clear trump is unfit to represent the Office of the President of the USA.

Plenty of Christian leaders condemning trump's use of religious props. No doubt the evangelicals will continue to support him, but will trump's tactic backfire with trying to gain more votes from others in the religious community?

60,000 people were peacefully protesting in Houston. The Houston police chief made strong comments about this beforehand and personally joined the protest. So yes, with common sense this can be solved.

I think young people who are on social media a lot are getting more real time info on police killings and they're not getting the watered down official versions that their parents are getting on the evening news (he didn't die from asphyxiation, he died from high blood pressure, etc). So if someone is not closely following the endless police violence then it may be hard for them to wrap their heads around the anger and frustration and youthful "let's mess stuff up" response.

From a good friend in LA, who was out in the streets, participating in one of the many peaceful protests: I've been out to some,  friends have too. I think it's a lot of factors but young people are fed up, everyone is out of work,  anxious about getting evicted, not sure how they're going to pay bills,  etc, stir crazy from Covid, and they're watching the police and white supremacists murder black people on video around the country, from Amad in Georgia. The young paramedic (I think?) In Kentucky and  Floyd in Minnesota. It's the perfect recipe for an uprising. I just hope some positive things come of it. The US needs a good therapist lol! I understand people have a visceral response to the looting,  it's scary,  they don't like it. But compared to the big companies that got the majority of PPP money,  Trump's corporate tax write offs, the real looting is happening right under our noses.

There is an awful lot of that in the US. Basically juvenile minds, carrying serious weapons, which make them feel like really big dogs. As a centrist democrat, I have no issues with gun ownership. But, limit it to three per family, or household. Nobody needs anything more than a pistol, a rifle (for hunting) and a shotgun in the house. Anything more than that is overkill, and perhaps a desperate attempt to fill a void of masculinity that is seriously lacking.

So he could hold up a bible and pander to his evangelical base. Does anyone actually think he has ever read the good book? Does anyone think he has ever spent even five minutes in prayer, meditation, contemplation or introspection? In his lifetime? This man is the polar opposite of a spiritual man, in everything he does, everything he says, and everything he represents.

Fortunately crime overall in the US has been dropping for a number of years in the major cities, which are generally governed by Dems.
